Annual Salary Increment Rate RM270.00

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Director of Strategic Planning and International Affairs Division.
  • The Principal Assistant Director of Strategic Planning and International Affairs will be assisting the Division’s Director to plan, formulate, coordinate, execute and monitor the works of the following functions:
    • Strategic Planning;
    • Policy advice;
    • International affairs; and
    • Secretariat for meeting.
  • Main responsibilities include:
    • Working closely with the Director to oversee the overall development and progress of the Commission through the implementation of the MyCC’s Strategic Plan;
    • Assisting the Director to formulate policies and advices in relation to competition;
    • Assisting the Director to coordinate international capacity building and technical assistance programmes through ASEAN, OECD, ICN, UNCTAD and EATOP;
    • Assisting the Director to coordinate cross-border anti-competition issues; and
    • Providing technical expertise on competition policy and law during FTA/WTO/ASEAN/Bilateral/Multilateral negotiations.

Requirements

  • Degree/Master in Business Management/ Administration/ Economics/ Law/ International Relations/ Public Policy;
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the related field(s);
  • Pass with credit in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia at Certificate of Education Malaysia (SPM) or any equivalent recognized by the government;
  • Sound knowledge on competition policy and law or equivalent;
  • Knowledge on Government policies would be an added advantage including experience liaising with Government departments and agencies;
  • Analytical, self-motivated, dedicated and able to work independently;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Great command of Bahasa Malaysia and English.

In addition to the above requirements, the following values are highly desirable:

  • Well versed in Government circulars / laws / policies and best practices;
  • Has experience in dealing with international organizations/bodies and/or attending international meetings;
  • Has experience in handling international instruments;
  • Committed to organizational goals and objectives;
  • Has the ability to work under pressure; 
  • Always be ready to work overtime (including weekend) when required to perform any duties directed by the Chief Officer Executive; and
  • Most importantly, he/she must have the right attitude and strong integrity, upholds teamwork principle, willing to learn and listen, highly resilient and professional.
