The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)

For The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to effectively elevate the economic potentials of its growing market, rules on competition have to be in place to create a more competitive environment that is free from anti-competitive practices and behaviours that would hinder economic growth and innovations.

Thus, the ASEAN Experts Group on Competition (AEGC) was established in August 2017 by the ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) as a platform for ASEAN Member States to discuss and cooperate in matters related to the development of competition policy and law regionally. In committing to such a cause, Malaysia has continuously participated in the progress of making the ASEAN market more competitive in line with the measures set by the ASEAN Competition Action Plan (ACAP) 2025.
